Obsidian: install and connect

You do not need an account to download or install the plugin. To use SEED services, sign in and approve the connection. Metered AI features use your SEED account’s remaining usage, shared with the website, and require enough usage for the requested action.

SEED Publisher for Obsidian uses this same API. Obsidian is an API client, not a separate service.

  1. Install the plugin

    If the plugins folder does not exist, create it. Extract the ZIP, then move the extracted seed-publisher folder into your vault’s .obsidian/plugins/ folder. The files should be directly inside .obsidian/plugins/seed-publisher/, without another seed-publisher folder inside it. Reload Obsidian and enable SEED Publisher in Settings → Community plugins.

  2. Connect your account

    Open Obsidian Settings → SEED Publisher and click Connect SEED. You can also click the SEED icon in the left sidebar and choose Connect SEED, or open the command palette (Cmd+P on Mac, Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux) and search for Connect SEED. In the browser, sign in, review the permissions and approve access once. Copy the code and paste it into the plugin within five minutes. The menu and settings show Connected and your account after verification. Check SEED connection only checks status; it does not connect your account. If verification fails, use Check connection. If prompted to reconnect, start a new connection in Obsidian; do not approve the old browser request again.

  3. Choose a note and a command

    Start with the Blogger HTML preview or SEO check. You can generate a draft, improve SEO with AI, add images, save a Blogger draft, or publish. Connect Blogger and choose a blog in SEED Settings before publishing.

Keep your connection

Access tokens last 15 minutes and renew automatically. The refresh connection expires 30 days after approval. When OS-protected storage is available, the plugin can restore your connection after restarting. Otherwise it keeps credentials in memory and requires reconnection after closing. Disconnect revokes the connection.

Your notes stay under your control

The plugin acts on the note or image you select; it does not scan or automatically upload your vault. A note changed during a request is not overwritten. If a version conflict appears, review both versions before trying again.

Keep the plugin’s seedSourceId, seedDraftId, seedDraftVersion, and pending-operation fields. They link the note to its draft and help recover an uncertain request.
